Web Direction Code: Micro FrontEnd at Scale by Mecca

Web Direction Code: Micro FrontEnd at Scale by Mecca

Shabnam and I had an opportunity to present in WebDirection Code. Thanks to Mecca, the company I am working at, We could showcase what Engineering has done over the past years at this conference.

What we talked about, was all about the MicroFrontEnd strategy that we have at Mecca, different apps, and different packages and they are all shaping our project structure.

At first, I started introducing what micro frontend means, I asked and less than 20% of the audience have worked on the project with this architecture.

The old more traditional approach of having a monolithic project could still work, but as technology advances, why not make it simpler with a micro frontend approach?

Then Shabnam, the technical lead at Mecca, stepped up and took us through a few of the challenges we faced through and also briefly mentioned what we have seen for the future of this project.

In the end, I summarised what Mecca looks like through the lens of an engineer and Michael helped us with some questions from the audience.

They have published the video at conffab, so if you are keen to know more about Micro FrontEnd, sign up there and watch the whole presentation.
